Terms of Service

This is a translation for reference. If anything differs, the Korean version applies.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Huggybugi (the "service"), provided by Kim Jaehyeon (the "operator"), and the rights and duties of the operator and of users.

Article 2 (The service)

The service is an app and a web chat where you make a group with friends, play with desktop characters and talk. It is free for now.

Article 3 (Sign-up and accounts)

1. Anyone 14 or older who accepts these terms and completes email verification is signed up.
2. You may not transfer or lend your account to anyone, and you look after your own password.
3. You can delete your account at any time under Settings > Account in the app.

Article 4 (Content you upload)

1. Rights in the messages, photos, drawings and sounds you upload (your "content") stay with you.
2. The operator stores, transmits and displays your content only as far as needed to show it to the groups you belong to.
3. You must not upload content that infringes copyright, likeness rights or other rights of anyone else. On a report from a rights holder or another user, the operator may remove the content.

Article 5 (What is not allowed)

You must not:

1. use someone else's account or try to work out their password
2. put an excessive load on the servers, or get around the limits or security of the service
3. send spam, advertising or illegal material
4. harass anyone, or upload obscene content or content harmful to minors
5. break the law in any other way

Article 6 (Restrictions on use)

If you break Article 5, the operator may remove the content, suspend your account or delete it. Except in urgent cases, you get email notice first and a chance to explain.

Article 7 (Changes and interruptions)

1. The operator may change or remove features, and gives notice in advance of important changes.
2. If the service is shut down, notice is given 30 days in advance.
3. The service may pause for maintenance, faults or events beyond anyone's control.

Article 8 (Limitation of liability)

1. The service is provided free of charge, and the operator is not liable for loss arising from its use except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
2. Messages and photos are deleted after 24 hours, so anything you need to keep is yours to save.
3. Disputes between users are for those users to settle; the operator helps with steps such as removing reported content.

Article 9 (Paid features)

If paid features arrive, pricing, payment and refund terms will be added here and announced before they take effect.

Article 10 (Changes to these terms)

Changes are announced at least 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days if they are to your disadvantage. Using the service after that date counts as accepting them. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.

Article 11 (Governing law and venue)

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the court with jurisdiction under its Civil Procedure Act.
